Football Friendlies

21 March 2023 (by kinoultonnotts)

Dear parents/carers,

I’d like to start by saying just how proud I am of all the children who played in the football matches against Willow Brook last night. Each and every one of you played so amazingly well, you showed such determination and team spirit and for that I couldn’t be more proud!

We observed some excellent skills and even uncovered a few hidden talents- Ayra & Zara - what little whippets you were and Edward- you’ve found your calling in goal!

Girls final score: 7-3 to Willow Brook. Whilst you found the first half challenging, you listened to feedback and came back after half time fighting, focussed & even more determined and made some excellent passes and scored some brilliant goals!

Boys final score: 2-1 to Willow Brook. You all played such an incredible game- you blew me away with your determination, skill and focus.

Thank you to all parents, carers and grandparents who came out to support our children - it really does make all the difference and we really appreciate you all coming.

A massive thank you to Mr Kirk for reffing, coaching and cheering our team on- we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you also to Miss Dean & Miss Glover for giving up your time to help organise the chaos and for cheering on from the sidelines!

To Hollie, Amelia, Charlotte, Jessica, Ayra, Philippa, Zara, Leoni, Hugo, Ben, Joseff, Jack, Henry, William, Henry, Edward, Jonas and Barnaby- well done! I am so proud of you all, I could burst!

The photos I have will be printed a put on the PE display in the school hall!

Finally, (almost at the end of my Oscars-style speech - I promise) for those children who didn’t make this team, I have already sorted a date for another game against Willow Brook for after half term (letters to follow soon). Also in the pipeline are some year 5 and 6 friendlies against Cropwell Bishop so keep your eyes peeled for those too.

Many thanks again,

Abi Huntingford
