School Values:

A school’s values should be at the core of everything they do.  They underpin the teaching and learning, and contribute to an environment which prepares pupils for their future lives.  At Kinoulton, we have tried to summarise our core values under three headings:

Creativity, Curiosity, Collaboration

These values are all of equal importance and encompass many things.

  • Creativity:

We encourage children at Kinoulton to be creative and to be given opportunities to develop and utilise their creativity in different ways.  While this obviously includes music and art, creativity is also developed through writing, problem solving, scientific enquiries and by being given opportunities for applying learning in imaginative ways.

  • Curiosity:

Children should have enquiring minds and should be encouraged to ask questions and to look for answers.  At Kinoulton we want to encourage and develop the children’s natural curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.

  • Collaboration:

Successfully working with others is built on mutual respect and a clear understanding of the importance of teamwork.  At Kinoulton we will seek out every opportunity to nurture collaboration.  This includes children working in groups and pairs – learning together – as well as recognising the importance of forging strong links between parents, teachers and the wider community.
